The Brisbane Lions’ new training and administration facility will be named Springfield Central Stadium following lengthy debate at the last Ipswich City Council meeting.

The name goes against a request from the Lions to use “park” in the gazetted name rather than stadium.

The club has already agreed with council on a commercial trading name for the facility being “Brighton Homes Arena”.
