Book characters on a school parade
1 min read

INTEREST and excitement were unlocked through discovering book characters which were brought to life at St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School for the ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’ themed Book Week.

The theme was discussed with students in the lead up to Book Week, building excitement for the main day that is described as one of the most exciting times of the year for the school.

Students dressed in characters such as Cinderella, Dorothy, the Highway Rat and the Man from Snowy River and paraded around the main stage in their class groups.

As a microphone was passed to each student their character was explained to the assembly.

Teachers also joined in the fun, dressing up in characters from books such as ‘Room on the Broom’, ‘Bananas in Pyjamas’ and ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.

Two best costume winners were chosen from each class group and were invited to pick a book to add to their collections at home.
