THERE will be bull riding in the carpark at Rising Sun Hotel in Rosewood next Friday night.

It’s not often a hotel and bull ride collide but in this case, the amalgamation is entertainment perfection.

On Friday bucking broncos, thrills and spills will be provided by Bull Pit Bullriding (BPB).

BPB is owned by Rosewood couple Gabe Wood and Tara Warburton.

Gabe has been a bull rider for eight years and bull fighter for 13.

“It’s the only sport in the world where there is a 100 percent guarantee you’re going to break a bone or get hurt,” Gabe said.

“There’s no forgiveness in this sport.”

Don’t confuse injury with complacency though, the participants are battle ready and organisers take every step possible to ensure the safety of riders.

The 33-year-old became involved in the ‘business’ alongside twin brother Kirstin when they were teenagers.

A bad break to his arm at the age of 22 put an end to his bull riding career so he took up bull fighting instead.

He describes bull fighting as a ‘cowboy protector’ role.

Bringing bulls to venues throughout South East Queensland means sharing their excitement and passion for the sport.

BPB have a system that allows them to fit into small venues and give patrons an up close experience.

Rising Sun Hotel first hosted BPB around two years ago and are looking forward to doing it again.

The action includes live music with a full bar and food trucks on hand.

There will also be a face painter and animal farm for the kids.

Once bull riding is over, it’s time for the adults to let loose and slide into the In the Pit After Party.

If you’d prefer a quieter evening and meal out, the hotel will still be open and usual menu available.
