FIRST time candidates Josh Addison and David Cullen got the top spot in the ballot draw for Ipswich City Council Division 1 and 4 elections last Wednesday.
There were no surprise nominations in the divisions.
In Division 1 the ballot paper will feature Josh Addison, Jacob Madsen, Simon Ingram and Pye Augustine in that order.
In Division 4 the ballot will show David Cullen, Jim Madden, Russell Milligan and Sue Dunne.
There will be new councillors elected in both divisions with Cr Sheila Ireland running for mayor and Cr Kate Kunzelmann retiring.
Previous candidates in Ipswich City Council elections Ken Salter and Karakan Karoly Kochardy nominated for the mayoralty in the final days, adding their names to the list of six candidates all up.
Incumbent mayor Teresa Harding drew first position in the ballot draw, followed by Ken Salter, Peter Robinson, Karakan Karoly Kochardy, David Martin and Sheila Ireland.
In the 2020 election there were seven candidates running for mayor, eight candidates in Division 1 and six in Division 4.
Early voting for the council election starts on March 4 and runs until March 15.
Postal vote applications are now open.
Election day is March 16 with voting from 8am to 6pm.
