The Rosewood United Soccer Club performed a moving tribute to one of their former players Dean Browning who passed away on May 18, 2023.
Known by the soccer community as ‘Deano’, he was remembered for his contribution to the club and for his team spirit.
Rosewood United member Brett Goodlet said the tribute was conducted at the men’s senior game, with his family and friends paying their respects from the sideline.
“The senior men’s game would have been Deano’s team, and Deano and his family have a long connection with the club,” he said.
“There were also players from St Pauls along with club officials who all honoured Deano by retiring his club jersey to the bench.
“His jersey was walked off the field by long term friends and players Nicholas Hatton and my son Brendon Goodlet.”
Brett Goodlet said the tribute was a time to remember Deano as a player and friend, on and off the field.
“Deano will forever be a Crusader.”
