THE W-G Hayden Humanities Centre and old Ipswich City Council administration building have now been demolished as part of the Ipswich Hospital expansion project.
More than 800 undercover carparks will be available in the Ipswich health precinct as part of the project, with the Roderick Street carpark also providing electric vehicle charging stations
West Moreton Health Executive Director for major capital, service improvement and governance, Claire Barratt said the proposed carpark would support the growth of Ipswich Hospital.
“The Ipswich Hospital Stage 2 Expansion will add 200 beds, six new operating theatres, a new Emergency Department and more services for the community,” she said.
Construction is expected to be completed in early 2027.
The West Moreton region is the fastest growing area in Queensland, with the population expected to grow to more than 636,000 people by 2046.
West Moreton Health also provides a free shuttle bus for patients, visitors and staff between Ipswich Hospital and Limestone Park in both directions.
