On September 6, a community consultation meeting was held at the Rosewood Library to discuss two design options of the new Rosewood Police Station.

Senior members of the Ipswich District Police, Member for Ipswich West Jim Madden and members of the community gave feedback on the design options to members of the Queensland Police Service Project Design team.

Rosewood OIC Sgt Travis Ehrich said that ultimately a design was selected which retained the heritage character of the main street, “with a modern feel”.

“Development will now proceed with the current station being demolished and the police residence moved and renovated, this will make way for the new station that will be positioned on the corner of the current site.”

Where the Rosewood Police operations will be housed during the construction period has yet to be determined.

“[But] during this period Rosewood police are committed to maintaining a strong presence in the township.”
