IT WAS the perfect fix for boredom blues; a fun filled day the first week of the school holidays.

The event was Rosewood Family Fun Day. It was held last Friday on the grounds of St Luke’s Anglican Church and attended by around 200 people.

The fun day was in September and circus themed. This year there were nods to Easter with a Guess How Many Easter Eggs are in the Jar competition.

“Our goal is to support families and the community,” said community project worker Tia Lancaster.

“It’s about giving children an opportunity to participate in events and activities, connection and support.

“It’s about connecting people with each other and the services that are available to them and letting them know that we are here.

“By making the event free it means everyone could attend.

“We gave caregivers a morning off and an opportunity to connect with their children, community and services."

The weather was perfect and families spread out picnic rugs and relaxed while children made the most of the attractions.

There was a waterslide and a jumping castle as well as workshops that taught badge making and balloon shaping.

“It was a wonderful place to gather and the activities were a lot of fun,” Tia said.

“We are grateful for the volunteers who came together to make this day possible.

“It is a reflection of the wonderful town of Rosewood.

“There’s a big thank you to the Anglican church for letting us use their beautiful grounds and provided volunteers to help run the event.”

Rosewood and District Support Centre is able to run the free fun day because it’s sponsored by Bendigo Bank.

“We are extremely grateful to the Bendigo Bank for their support,” Tia said.

“It’s through their generous support we are able to provide this free and accessible event to our community.”
