THE Haigslea school community gathered to acknowledge the work of school Chaplain Mike for providing spiritual and emotional support to their students, staff and families.
School Principal Emily Robinson said that Chaplain Mike provided a listening ear and a caring presence for children and families in crisis, and to those who just need a friend.
The school also recognised National Simultaneous Story Time, by joining other schools all over the nation in reading this year’s book of choice, ‘Family Tree’.
“To help with discussing this book in class the students drew a picture of a family tree that represented their families along with creating art work pertaining to the book,” she said.
