A DISPLAY home village is in the planning phase for one of the mega residential developments at Walloon.
Resiprop Pty Ltd, the developer behind the Highland Estate on 57-59 hectares at the corner of Taylors Road, Walloon and Grieves Road, Haigslea, applied to the Ipswich City Council just before Christmas to establish a cluster of display homes.
The developer is hoping to get the go ahead to build 18 display homes and a carpark on land beside Taylors Road that has already been approved for residential subdivision.
Approval for the 100 lot subdivision dates back as far as 2009 and includes the properties at 176-200 Raysource Road, Haigslea.
Subsequent changes to the approval, represents the early stages of a master planned community which ultimately is proposed to contain more than 900 housing allotments.
The proposed average size of the allotments overall is in the vicinity of 500sqm.
In the Christmas 2024 application for a display village, the developer has noted that there are plans to also apply to erect a temporary sales office on two adjoining allotments.
A total of 17 carparks are to be sited along the street (notionally named Moray Place) separating the two banks of display homes with additional carparks formed on two allotments behind the proposed display village.
