STUDENTS from Rosewood High worked with members of the Rosewood Community Centre, the Rosewood Men’s Workshop and emergency service personnel to undertake the community service phase of the Kokoda Foundation Challenge.
They gathered at the Community Centre, to assist in projects which included making toys, bowls and boxes, and they also assisted with painting finished projects for the Rosewood Men’s Workshop.
The school’s Youth Worker, Cassie Ewings, said Donna Hanlon spoke with the students about the history of the Community Centre and Men’s Workshop members showed them how they made various items.
“The students also shared biscuits with representatives from the Rosewood Fire Station,” she said.
“A World War II book that was printed in 1943 was presented to the students, and everyone involved enjoyed hot chips for lunch.”
