1 min read

THE students involved in the Kokoda program took part in a graduation ceremony at Spicers Hidden Vale on Wednesday, October 4.

The ceremony reflected the achievements of the Rosewood State High School students, the Kokoda volunteers and Sgt Travis Ehrich through the program.

The 2023 Kokoda Challenge consisted of numerous hikes, community service activities and a trip to Cairns – each event offered team and resilience building experiences.

Student Well-being Youth Worker Cassie Ewings said that every student involved was presented with a certificate and a dog tag to congratulate them for completing the program.

Student, Samantha Brown, was presented with the Kokoda Spirit Award, for displaying the Kokoda Youth Foundation’s four pillars of courage, endurance, mateship and sacrifice.

Student, Noah Miller received the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel Award for always helping his teammates.

“Also, the Kokoda Youth Foundation showed their appreciation to Rosewood State High School and to the Rosewood Police Service by presenting them with a special plaque,” Cassie said.

“It has been a great experience for all involved and it has been an honour and a privilege to be the support person for Rosewood High throughout the journey.”
