Marburg State School Leaders proud to be in their new roles
1 min read

THE Marburg State School leaders were welcomed into their leadership roles last Friday by school Principal Russell Napier, guests Cr Russell Milligan, Wendye and Barry Gratton, family and friends.

The school leaders for 2022 are Captain Isaac Cross, school Vice Captain Evelynn Radcliffe, Woodlands House Captain Felix Cross and Frederick House Captain Aulanyah Johnston.

Joining the Captains are the Leadership team of Suny Ackworth, Acacia Anderson, Ruby Jaye-Brown, Lara Payne and Hunter Withers.

Principal Russell Napier said that leadership is about being diligent, active, selfless, calm and supportive.

“Importantly, a leader must have excellent listening skills in order to make the most

appropriate decisions to move forward,” he said.

“A very wise person once told me, you have two ears but only one mouth, therefore, doesn’t it make more sense that we listen twice as much as we speak, as listening skills will serve you well as you embark on your leadership journey.

“Leadership is all about thinking about those around you and ensuring that you are doing the absolute best you can to allow others to feel valued and included within the community you represent.”

The leaders were invited to read their leadership pledge before being presented with their badges by Cr Milligan.

Parents and Carers were then invited to pin the badges onto their children’s uniform.
