New feature in Cobb and Co park, Rosewood
1 min read

A NEW sculpture has been placed against the existing diagonal bottle tree support frame in Rosewood’s Cobb and Co Park to improve the visual appeal of the structure.

The sculpture was completed by Ipswich City Council employees at a cost of $2000.

A team of council arborists, signwriters, metal fabricators, painters and installers were involved in the design, construction and installation of the project.

Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said the condition of the 70-year-old bottle tree is extensively monitored every six months, with council arborists checking on it regularly.

“The tree is exhibiting good health and form consistent with its species, and there are no concerns with the lean, as the structural support is in place,” she said.

Deputy Mayor Russell Milligan added that the lean on the tree has been gradual over the last couple of years and has been stabilised at approximately 20 degrees.
