THE Rosewood Amateur Fishing Club's September trip to the Pin, marked the end of the saltwater competition for the year.

Club Secretary Judy Litfin said results on the water included Donna Henderson winning the trip, with four bream and one whiting, weighing 1.37 kilograms and earning 28.7 points.

Second place went to Terry Sheppard who caught four bream and one whiting, weighing 1.09 kilograms, totalling 25.9 points.

Daren Henderson claimed third place with four bream weighing 1.06 kilograms and 24.6 points.

In the Junior competition, Alisha Harris was the winner, bagging two flathead and one bream weighing 2.07 kilograms and earning 33.07 points, which beat the senior anglers.

Second place went to Cooper Buhmann with one flathead at 0.585 kilograms for 16.85 points.

In the freshwater competition on October 7 and 8, the club ventured to Moogerah Dam, to enjoy the scenery where challenges such as windy weather were faced.

Secretary Judy said that out of the 18 members competing, only seven managed to weigh in legal sized fish.

First place was awarded to Daren Henderson with four bass and one yellow belly, weighing in at 6.61 kilograms, earning him 81.1 points.

Donna Henderson claimed second place, catching five bass weighing 5 kilograms, gaining 65 points, and third place went to Jamie Harris with one bass weighing 0.915 kilograms for 20.15 points.

The Junior competition winner was Alisha Harris with two bass totalling 2.2 kilograms and 34 points, Alisha also landed a 7.24 kilogram eel, which will be hard to beat in the Freshwater Vermin category.

“Holly Bazzo came second with one bass weighing 0.59 kilograms for 16.9 points and with only one freshwater competition left for the year, the November trip to Leslie Dam will be hotly contested,” Judy said.
