BOOKS and reading achievements were celebrated at Ashwell State School, recently.

Students were rewarded for reaching benchmark achievements for accumulated nights of reading.

Principal Dallas Schmidt said that as a result of “fantastic results in reading, the school had their first ever picnic in the school grounds”.

“This was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the perfect weather while acknowledging the students results,” she said.

“Each night of reading completed was recorded and the students were awarded individually with certificates, books, plenty of snacks and a game of bocce.”
