Rosewood Police are packing up to make way for the construction of the new Rosewood Police Station, that is estimated to cost $1.9 million dollars, allocated from the 2022/2023 State Government budget.
The current Rosewood Police Station is located in John Street, Rosewood, it will be demolished to make way for the new station, that is estimated to be complete in 2024.
Works will include, the current station being demolished, the police residence being moved and renovated, and the new station that will be built on the corner of John and Railway Street.
During this time, Rosewood police are committed to maintaining a strong presence in the Rosewood and surrounding townships.
Sergeant and Officer in Charge at the Rosewood Police Station Travis Ehrich said that the new station will be of adequate capacity to meet the expanding population of the Rosewood township.
“Planning for the development of the new station is in full swing, and all of the staff have now commenced packing up the current police station,” he said.
“The furniture has been moved to the Marburg police station, and it is anticipated that the Rosewood police will be housed at the Marburg station whilst the current Rosewood station is demolished.
“Once the demolition is completed, the build of the new station will take place.
“Rosewood police will maintain a presence in the Rosewood and surrounding areas, with the use of the Mobile Police Beat which will be positioned in a prominent location.
“It is anticipated that the move to the Marburg station will be complete in the next coming months.”
