THE Rosewood State Emergency Services team welcomed the community to an Open Day to enjoy live demonstrations, food and information about what the SES do to look after their community.
Group Leader Vince McGuire expressed his gratitude to all of the families who came along to support his team on what he said was a successful day being able to share his passion for the SES.
“The idea for the open day started because we felt like some families did not know that there is a SES facility in Rosewood,” he said.
“This open day was a great opportunity for our team to interact and talk to families, and throughout the day we enjoyed sharing different information about how to join the team and also about what we do within the community.
“Currently we have a great team who come together once a week to keep up to date with training and exercises, and I was offered the opportunity to become Group Leader last year, which I was very grateful for as it means a lot to lead such a great team.”
He added that the Rosewood facility which is located on Rosewood Warrill View Road, is equipped with all the latest vehicles, boats and equipment to be readily available in any emergency.
