Shield expands property reach to Walloon
2 min read

FROM humble beginnings, real estate principal and licencee Kerrin Farmer has grown his business into a company people trust.

In 2009, Shield Management was operated from home, in a commercial setting at Eastern Heights, Ipswich and now another branch has opened at Walloon.

Venita Daw joined Kerrin a few years back as the business development manager and set up the sales department.

“We don’t need to be the biggest real estate company, what we want is to be known as is a property investment specialist agency,” Venita said.

“The reason we opened a branch in Walloon is there is a lot of growth in that area.

“I am a local myself, I have lived in Rosewood for nearly 30 years and been in the real estate industry for about 12-and-a-half years.”

The agency is family owned and offers residential sales and rentals, and will be moving into the commercial sphere with leasing and management in that space.

“While we specialise in property management, we are opening the Walloon office to generate sales in the area,” Venita said.

“We are now a local agency within Walloon, which makes it easier for those looking for property to drop in, have a chat and see how we can help them.

“If they are looking at selling their property or renting, moving out of the area and want their property managed, we have the ability to do that for them.”

Venita said if people were looking for properties to buy, renovate and sell quickly for profit, they were able to help there too.

“We might spend $5,000 of their money, for example, and that would help us to generate another $30,000 to $40,000 in the sale price for owners,” she said.

“That’s one of our differences and something we bring to the table.”

Not every property makes a good rental investment, understanding the fluidity of the market means Shield Management agents are able to guide clients with major financial decisions.

“We work with owners to help them find the right property to purchase, then guide them to set it up so it becomes a proper viable asset and generates wealth,” she said.

“Real estate isn’t all about transactions, it is about creating relationships and that’s something we work hard to achieve.”
