Student skills on show through their creative school work display
1 min read

STUDENTS from local schools will have the opportunity to share their artwork and school work at this year’s Rosewood Show.

This section can be found in the show pavilion where it joins the fresh produce, poultry and horticulture sections.

School Section Steward, Margaret Offer, said she enjoys looking after this section as it is always filled with colourful and creative works that the children have put their efforts into throughout the year.

“Each school has their own area and they are encouraged to choose a theme for their work and from kindergarten to high school all students are encouraged to enter,” she said.

“Lots of preparation goes into each display, from getting all of the works together and organising it into the desired place, it really is amazing to see it all come together.”

Alongside the school displays are the individual student competition entries in writing, art, collage and numerous others categories.

“There are different sections to meet the needs of the different genres of learning and education that the students participate in at school, from writing to art, we like to see all works inclusive,” she said.

“The hardest job is for the judges, because honestly each student is a winner just for entering their work into the show.

“Each judge takes their time to carefully analyse each piece.

“Then they tally the points to make their decision.”

Winning competitors are rewarded with ribbons and prize money.

Families are encouraged to take time to view their children’s works in this section while Margaret looks forward to sharing the works and to meeting everyone at the show.
