Merry Christmas from the Tribune team
1 min read

THIS is the final edition of the Ipswich Tribune for 2023. Our first edition for 2024 will be January 17.

From all the team at the Ipswich Tribune and Fassifern Guardian we would like to wish our readers and advertisers a merry Christmas and the very best for the New Year.

Thank you to the Ipswich community for your support and for embracing the need for quality journalism in Ipswich.

This year the Ipswich Tribune bolstered our support for the arts, entertainment and hospitality in Ipswich with our 12-page VERVE liftout. We introduced a new Dining Guide, brought back our popular 7-day TV guide, welcomed Alexis Poulsen from Limelight Cinemas as our movie columnist and Glen Smith as our arts columnist and introduced a regular travel feature.

We won a Clarion award for Indigenous Issues Reporting for our coverage of development at Deebing Creek and the Queensland Country Press Association’s Journalist Excellence Award.

The Ipswich Tribune is the biggest print - online news employer in Ipswich because every step of the production of your leading local newspaper up to printing; from reporting, advertising sales, accounts, administration, pre-press, subbing, layout and design; is all carried out locally in the Ipswich region. The paper is printed at Yandina on the Sunshine Coast.

Along with the staff pictured above our team includes Editor-In-Chief Drew Creighton, senior journalist and Fassifern Guardian Editor Wendy Creighton, sports journalist David Lems, journalist Lara Robinson, Moreton Border News reporter Elizabeth Kington, racing writer Peter Foley, designer Ben Steinhardt, office manager Chris Kerkin, distribution Jenni Kaatz, and our columnists Frank Hampson, Aub Podlich, Denis Smith, Alexis Poulsen and Glen Smith.

We wish you all a happy holiday season and look forward to keeping you informed with the best local coverage in 2024.
