SUNDAY’S Springfield International Women’s Day Fun Run at Brighton Homes Arena has been postponed until March 30.

Mater Foundation Chief Executive Andrew Thomas said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of participants, staff, volunteers and the wider community.

More than 23,000 people were due to take part in the Brisbane fun run, which raises vital funds to support women with breast cancer.

“Due to the upcoming weather event, we have decided to cancel the International Women’s Day Fun Run,” Mr Thomas said.

“We are deeply disappointed that the Sea of Pink won’t be able to come together in Brisbane to support this important cause,” Mr Thomas said. .
