Symbolic logo taking Jets to new heights

THE Ipswich Jets will end their 40th anniversary celebrating rich history with a fresh logo to launch the 2023 rugby league and netball seasons.

However, the new Jets symbol will maintain strong links to Ipswich's RAAF base at Amberley.

The former fighter Jet aircraft featured in the logo has been replaced by the modern twin seat F/A-18F Super Hornet as inspiration.

“It's a new era and it represents us really well,” Jets CEO Richard Hughes said, also welcoming TAE Aerospace as the major naming rights sponsor.

TAE Aerospace take over from Savige Pest Control, an Ipswich company headed by long-time Jets and Ipswich rugby league supporter Sandy Savige.

The Savige family was presented with a number one 40th Anniversary Jersey in recognition of their years of commitment.

Hughes said it made sense the Jets maintained a strong connection with TAE given the club's past ties with RAAF Amberley. TAE are committed to a five year naming rights deal.

Hughes said the end of year changes represented the Jets growing strength in the commercial arena while continuing to promote women's sport through the USQ Jets netballers and plans for a new women's league side next season.

He said the new logo was unveiled now to complete the vast array of 40th anniversary activities.

“With TAE, we thought it was nice to be able to do all that at once,” the CEO said.

The new Jets logo will be prominent across the club's full complement of league and netball teams aiming to reach new heights in 2023 and the next 40 years.
