WORK has progressed on the new $4 million Rosewood Police Station.
Constable Scott Muscat from the Rosewood Police Station said there would be an increase in building activity at the station grounds now the demolition of the old station is completed.
“The demolition commenced on December 11, and the new build is expected to take place in early 2024,” he said.
“During this time there will be an increase in heavy vehicles within the area and the Rosewood police will continue to operate out of the Marburg police station.”
The former police residence, which is currently located on the corner of John and Railway Streets, is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.
The Department of Environment and Science has issued an exemption certificate for its relocation to take place next to the site of the former Rosewood Magistrates court building.
Works on the new single storey Rosewood police station building with new vehicle crossovers, car parking and landscaping will then take place.
