Charged excitement for return to Willowbank circuit
1 min read

REIGNING Bathurst 1000 winner Brodie Kostecki’s first season with Dick Johnson Racing will add to the excitement of Supercars returning to Queensland Raceway at Willowbank this year.

Kostecki will debut with Dick Johnson Racing, as the 2023 Supercars champion and 2024 Bathurst 1000  champion, after four years at Erebus Motorsport.

Supercars’  long-awaited return to the Ipswich Motorsport Precinct in August comes as the Century Batteries Ipswich Super440 series.

It will be the Supercars’ first visit to ‘the paperclip’ since 2019. The massive weekend of motorsport at the Willowbank circuit will also serve as the final event of the Sprint Cup phase of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship season.

At the end of this year’s Ipswich event, the championship leader will earn automatic entry to the Supercars Finals series, one of the key new features of the 2025 championship.

Kostecki donned his Shell V-Power uniform for the first time as he joined Supercars and Century Batteries representatives at Queensland Raceway.

“The return to Queensland Raceway is set to be one of the most exciting events on the 2025 Supercars calendar, and we’re excited to bring our brand to the fans trackside and watching at home," said Shaun O’Brien, GM of Century Batteries Automotive, ANZ.

The August event in Ipswich is shaping up as a spectacular addition to the 2025 calendar, with fresh circuit upgrades being installed around the venue in preparation for Supercars’ return to the 3.1-kilometre circuit.

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship season kicks off February 21-23 with the Sydney 500 at Sydney Motorsport Park, with Supercars races each of the three days of the event.
